Hello Sisters,
Yes, we gathered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Eighty two women from
cities around the country danced, sang, shared their stories, cried, and
yes, screamed, too. We laughed, chanted mantras, and connected in a myriad
of ways. Blood sisters reunited after a long separation, and mothers and
daughters danced together as friends. Young girls, under eighteen, were
celebrated as the hope for tomorrow; and women past menopause were honored
with a special song: October Roses Are The Fairest of All. The song was
sung by a participant, in Dutch, and was written by Betsy Rose.
We sang a song I'd written years ago to the tune of The Battle Hymn of
the Republic:
MY EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY OF THE WAKING OF WOMEN
WE ARE STRONG AND INDEPENDENT AND WE WON'T BE RULED BY MEN
WE TRUST OUR INTUITION AND OUR POWER'S BEEN RELEASED
AND WE'LL LEAD THE WORLD TO PEACE.
CHORUS; GLORY, GLORY WE CAN CHANGE THINGS
GLORY, GLORY WE CAN CHANGE THINGS
GLORY, GLORY WE CAN CHANGE THINGS
AND THE GODDESS DANCES ON.
As the organizer and facilitator, I was assisted by many women, most of
whom are (or were) students of Tri-Energetics, the counseling system
I currently teach together with my husband, Henry Marshall.
We are very grateful to the American Book Center for giving us the wonderful
building in which to gather.
And we are grateful for the many wonderful men who supported the gathering
in so many different ways.
May we keep on supporting each other, In peace,
Rickie Moore, Ph.D.
