A Day of Purposeful Action
On this fifth day we invite women to take a concrete action,
based on your exploration of opportunities,
that will plant the positive seeds of change to weave a world that works.

Some ideas for activities to celebrate this day:
- Do one small thing you have never done before but
have always felt a longing to do.
- Express your views. Make a phone call, write a letter,
or send an e-mail expressing your views on an issue you feel passionate
about.
- Donate to an organization you feel good about.
- Create a Giving Circle and invite ten friends to join
you so you can make an even bigger impact.
- Commit yourself to one community-service project today.
Feed the hungry; donate clothing to a shelter; plant a tree; paint
a mural; hand out flyers; register women to vote.
- Take one large step forward in your own leadership
by thinking bigger about your own potential. Reach and stretch
yourself by taking an action today that would have felt impossible
for you yesterday. If you have always done your service in your
family, reach out to a community organization. If you have been
volunteering at the level of a community school or service organization,
consider a statewide campaign or a global issue.
- When we collaborate, our power and effectiveness
is multiplied. Bring leadership from various women's organizations
together to discuss how they can take an action together for greater
impact.
