A Day of Gathering, Inspiration,
Celebration and Collaboration

On this sixth day women worldwide will gather in groups large and small
to inspire and to be inspired and to celebrate the emerging wav
e of transformational leadership that we, as women,
are bringing forth to weave a world that works!
Use this day as an opportunity to collaborate with other groups
active in your community, or to promote your organizations' goals and visions.

Some ideas for activities to celebrate this day:

• This is the big day! Join thousands of other circles of women around the world by creating a gathering (remember to use the interactive features of this site to post your event)
  
  
• Small gatherings are wonderful. Invite two friends to join you for tea and conversation... and be sure to post it on the events list so you can add your energy to the global gathering in that way.
  
  
• If you already belong to a book club, a gardening group, a prayer circle or any other women's group that meets on this Saturday, mention the Gather the Women context and take a few minutes to acknowledge your connection with all the women around the globe who are gathering today.
  
  
• Explore your community calendar. If there already is an event planned for International Women's Day, offer to help! Let the sponsors know they can promote their event and join a large global network of women by posting their event at www.gatherthewomen.org
  
  
• We would be happy to help you plan a larger event at a church, a park, a school or community center. All you need is a location, a mailing list and a short creative process that allows women to connect.
  
  
• Reach out to other organizations in your community; invite them to join you in partnership to co-create a community-wide event that could become a tradition and a source of energy for all.
