The theme for the 2004 Gather the Women Initiative
is WEAVING A WORLD THAT WORKS. A world that works is one that is continually
learning and growing while it embraces collaboration, honors diversity,
values relationships, recognizes our interdependence with one another
and with our environment, works toward sustainability in every sector
of society and towards the mutual well-being of all. Monday,
March 8 On this first day we invite women to take time to remember who we are as women, to remember the contributions of untold millions of women who have bravely gone before us and who have helped pave the way to the creation of this moment in time, to remember our connection to each other and to the planet, to remember that when we work together toward a common goal, we are powerful beyond measure. Tuesday,
March 9 On this second day we invite women to connect with Spirit, in whatever form you envision the Divine, and create a energetic field of resonance with the millions of women who are joining us in this sacred journey. We invite you to use this time to envision a world that works--whatever that looks like for you--and to ground that vision through your thoughts, prayers and meditations. (Please use our Gather the Women Forums to post your prayers and visions). Wednesday,
March 10 On this third day we encourage women to set aside time for sharing from the heart, storytelling, listening deeply to one another and being heard. Let this be a day when we open our hearts, embrace each other's diversity and look for our common points of connection with those in our immediate circles as well as with women around the world. Let us feel our oneness and envision how together we can weave a world that works. Thursday,
March 11 On this fourth day we invite women to set aside time to explore opportunities for actions that can be taken collaboratively--within your families, within your local communities, and/or within your larger world community--to weave a world that works. Whatever issues touch your heart, commit to educating yourself and brainstorming solutions. Hold the thought that "If it's to be, it's up to me." We each hold a piece of the solution. Friday,
March 12 On this fifth day we invite women to take a concrete action, based on your exploration of opportunities, that will plant the positive seeds of change to weave a world that works. Saturday,
March 13 On this sixth day women worldwide will gather in groups large and small
to inspire and to be inspired and to celebrate the emerging wave
of transformational leadership that we, as women, are bringing forth
to weave a world that works! Use this day as an opportunity to
collaborate with other groups active in your community, or to promote
your organizations' goals and visions. Sunday,
March 14 On this seventh day may all humanity bask in the energy of gratitude
for the healing wave of energy that has been generated during this
week. Give thanks for the connections made, for the movement begun,
and for the steps we've taken to weave a world that works for all! |
