FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DALLAS TO HOST 2004
GATHER THE WOMEN CONGRESS

November 13, 2003 - Planning has begun for the 2004 Gather the Women Congress, to be held October 15, 16 and 17, 2004 in Dallas, Texas. Organizers expect 600 women from thirty countries to attend this event at the Omni Mandalay in the Las Colinas resort.

The first Gather the Women Congress was held in San Francisco in October 2003. The Congress was co-sponsored by more than twenty diverse women's organizations. Women of Vision and Action, a non-profit network of woman leaders, took the lead in planning the event. They were joined by Millionth Circle, Peaxe X Peace, Foundation for Conscious Evolution, Pathways to Peace and numerous other partner organizations.

One of those partner organizations, Earthluck International, has taken the lead role in hosting and planning the 2004 event. They will again invite active participation from diverse global women's organizations.

Kathe Schaaf, the Coordinator of the 2003 Congress, points to the mission statement from that event: "Women everywhere are awakening to the realization that we have the choice to see our current planetary story as a hopeless crisis or a rare opportunity -- OUR opportunity -- to create a new story of compassion and balance by stepping boldly into global leadership."

She adds, "At this important time in human history, we need to develop new models for effective leadership. No single organization can be as effective as we can be when we join forces. Collaboration multiplies the resources, the energy and the effectiveness of our work."

The Dallas event will build on the success of the first Congress, which brought together women from twenty counties, including Iraq, Israel, Mexico, Kenya, Australia, Italy and Brazil.
